The files below show data on the optimal week of the marketing year for corn, sorghum, soybeans, and wheat for production regions in Missouri and for the state as a whole. The data comprises averages for the years between 2007 and 2013. Users can download the files and change the assumptions for storage costs and opportunity costs of money.
The models use cash price data for multiple Missouri market locations. For every week of the marketing year, each graph shows the [Cash Price – Storage Cost – Opportunity Cost] of money. So, for the first week of the marketing year there is no cost, while the costs increase throughout the marketing year. The highest point on a graph shows the 7-year average best week to market the crop for the given region.
